    Please try and be comprehensive. The -F flag also displays | (pipe) when the file is a… pipe. Example:

    $ mkfifo foo
    $ ls -F foo

    also the ‘-1’ argument to ‘ls’ is nice when you need to list one file per line. for example:

    $ ls -1 ~/
